Technical Co-Founder, CAE Expert - Chief Scientific Officer (CSO)
We are looking to connect with an exceptional Europe-based Co-Founder CAE expert for our early-stage B2B AI engineering software venture. The project sits at the intersection of engineering intelligence, CAE, simulation data, applied AI, and enterprise knowledge systems.
The immediate priority is highly hands-on: you will help shape the physics and engineering logic behind the product, define real-world use cases, work with technical teams on data structures and workflows, and support early customer/design-partner discussions.
Profile
We are looking for someone with strong experience across several of the following areas:
- CAE and simulation: extensive practical experience within CAE in advanced industries; CFD, FEA, thermal analysis, structural analysis, aerodynamics.
- Engineering workflows: deep understanding of how engineering teams create, validate, store, review, and reuse simulation, test, and design data across projects.
- Scientific data modelling: ability to translate complex engineering outputs into structured concepts, metadata, relationships, assumptions, decisions, and reusable knowledge.
- Technical formats and tools: familiarity with CAE, CAD, PLM, test data, reports, calculation sheets, solver files, logs, or other technical engineering artefacts.
- Product use cases: ability to define valuable user journeys, acceptance criteria, demo scenarios, and real engineering questions the platform should answer.
- Domain credibility: ability to speak credibly with CAE managers, simulation engineers, technical directors, and engineering consultancies.
- Applied AI understanding: basic familiarity with AI, ML, LLMs, to work closely with the CTO and translate engineering needs into product requirements.
- Customer discovery: comfortable speaking with early partners, extracting pain points, validating workflows, and helping define pilot success criteria.
- Zero-to-one execution: willing to operate hands-on in a very early-stage environment, where the role includes strategy, product, technical definition, customer work, and scientific validation.
- Scientific leadership: owning the engineering/scientific roadmap, setting quality standards, and helping build a strong technical and domain team over time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
