Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the Opportunity
We are an early-stage climate tech startup developing a digital solution to accelerate Scope 3 decarbonisation across supply chains. This is a Technical Co-Founder opportunity at an early-stage climate tech startup. As the company is currently pre-funding, there is no salary available initially. The successful candidate will receive equity ownership. Following fundraising, the role will transition into a full-time executive position with salary and continued equity ownership.
Role Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technology roadmap and product architecture.
- Build and scale a secure SaaS platform from the ground up.
- Lead software development, engineering decisions, and technical strategy.
- Develop AI and data-driven solutions to support carbon analysis, supplier assessment, and sustainability insights.
- Build data pipelines and analytics capabilities for Scope 3 emissions and supply chain intelligence.
- Work closely with customers to translate industry challenges into practical technology solutions.
- Support fundraising and help shape the company's future growth.

Key Skills & Experience
Software Development
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building scalable SaaS platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP), APIs, databases, and modern software architecture.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar technologies.
Data Science & AI
- Experience with machine learning, AI, data analytics, and data engineering.
- Ability to build data-driven solutions and intelligent insights.
Climate & Supply Chain (Preferred)
- Understanding of supply chain management, procurement, or supplier engagement.
- Knowledge of Scope 3 emissions, carbon accounting, ESG, Net Zero, or sustainability reporting.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is advantageous.

Academic Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong technical background demonstrated through professional experience, projects, research, or entrepreneurial ventures.
- Additional qualifications or experience in sustainability, environmental science, supply chain management, procurement, or climate technology would be advantageous.
