Our client is a market-leading manufacturer supplying advanced lightweight protection and composite solutions to the defence and aerospace sectors. With over 90 years of engineering excellence, they are at the forefront of military vehicle innovation and are looking for experienced individuals to support the build and integration of armoured vehicle platforms.
The Role
Working as part of a specialist production team, you will be responsible for the assembly, modification, and exterior fit-out of military vehicles, ensuring all components are installed to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit and install exterior vehicle components, body panels, armour systems, brackets, and associated assemblies to military vehicle platforms.
- Carry out coachbuilding and vehicle modification activities in line with engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
- Remove existing vehicle components and prepare surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Assemble and install sub-assemblies ready for vehicle integration.
- Conduct visual inspections of parts and identify defects before installation.
- Work across multiple assembly areas supporting different stages of vehicle build programmes.
- Ensure all work is completed to strict quality, safety, and production standards.
- Support vehicle refurbishment, upgrade, and enhancement programmes.

What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, Coachbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in vehicle fitting, coachbuilding, body building, vehicle conversion, refurbishment, or military vehicle assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical fitting skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Any experience within defence, military, commercial vehicle, HGV, trailer, specialist vehicle, or coachbuilding environments would be highly advantageous.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to pass a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and will be required to undergo pre-employment screening.
