We have a fantastic opportunity for a Coating Chargehand to work on the Hinkley Point C project.
Vacancy Details
In this position you will support the Black Hat Supervisor with the installation of secondary steel structures on HPC site. As a Working Chargehand, you will manage all Health & Safety aspects of Installation activities on site. Responsibilities include:
- Risk Assessments/Point of Work Risk Assessments review
- Toolbox Talks
- On site supervision ensuring that all company policies are adhered to
Other Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Responsible for leading a team of operatives and supporting management
- Provide technical advice and propose technical solutions where required
- Review and approve technical & safety documentation
- Ensure installation of works is as per design and process
- Deliver works on time and within parameters of the budget set for the task
- Supervise contracted staff
- Manage and ensure compliance of the NNB permit to work processes
- Attend coordination meetings
- Act as Incident Controller (IC)
- Act as Trauma and Medical Immediate Care (TMIC)

Key Skills & Experience
One of the following:
- OPITO Level 2 Blaster\Sprayer Train the Painter - Protective Coatings Applicator
- ICATS Protective Coatings Applicator
Plus
One of the following:
- Enrolment onto ILM Level 3 Award C&BE plus completion of Nuclear Unit Nuclear Engineering Construction Supervisor (NECS)
Plus
One of the following:
- LATS SMSTS IOSH Managing Safely
Qualifications - Desirable
- TMIC trained (First Aid at Work trained)
- IC trained
- Permit Acceptor
The candidate must be a strong team leader who pays attention to safety and quality as a priority, always leading by example. They must be able to set people to work and ensure works are delivered as per design, on time and on budget.
