Position: COBOL Programming Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $100–$200/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: One-week sprint
Commitment: 2–3 day pilot, then roughly a week of production work
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate technical tasks in COBOL against real-world professional standards.
- Review intricate code-level situations, including database migration scenarios, and provide precise, structured written assessments.
- Work inside containerized repositories using Docker to run and interpret programmatic and CI-style checks.
- Provide clear written rationales explaining your expert judgments.
- Complete well-defined, time-bounded tasks with explicit evaluation criteria.

Qualifications
Must-Have
- 5+ years of professional COBOL development on IBM mainframe (z/OS) systems.
- Experience with JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2 in banking, insurance, or government systems.
- Comfort working in Linux/Docker-based repo environments.
Preferred
- Experience with financial system backends related to data or database migration.
- Background in banking, insurance, or government sectors.
