Location: Near Keighley, West Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Travel Required: Yes - UK-wide, including occasional overnight stays


H.A. McEwens are a highly respected specialist engineering company delivering high-quality workmanship across industrial and heritage sectors. Our projects combine modern engineering methods with traditional craftsmanship, offering a diverse and exciting working environment.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Coded Stick Welder (Carbon) to join our experienced and dedicated team.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on position that will involve working both in our workshop near Keighley and on sites across the UK. The successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of specialist engineering projects.

Duties Will Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Stick welding of carbon to BS EN ISO 9606-1 standards
  • Predominantly working on Industrial and heritage boiler repairs
  • Fabrication of pressure vessels
  • Pipework fabrication and installation
  • General fabrication and engineering work
  • Boiler servicing and installations
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Have held Coding’s in Stick welding (carbon) to BS EN ISO 9606-1
  • Experience in general engineering and fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Flexible approach to working hours and travel
  • Willingness to work away from home when required
  • Based within a reasonable travelling distance of Keighley, West Yorkshire

Desirable

  • Experience working on boilers, pressure vessels, or pipework
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Personal qualities:

    • Trustworthy with a strong work ethic
    • Team player with a proactive attitude
