About Us

Nairobi Coffee & Tea Co Ltd is a long-established, family-owned coffee company with a proud heritage dating back to 1925.

We supply high-quality coffee, tea, hot beverage ingredients and commercial beverage equipment to customers across the UK, including universities, hospitality businesses, contract caterers, healthcare organisations and commercial workplaces.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Coffee Machine Service Engineer / Technician to join our technical service team.

The Role

This is a field-based role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in commercial coffee and hot beverage equipment.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing a wide range of commercial coffee machines and beverage equipment at customer sites.

The equipment you will work on includes:

  • Bean-to-cup coffee machines with powdered milk systems
  • Bean-to-cup coffee machines with fresh milk systems
  • Traditional commercial espresso machines
  • Bulk brew coffee systems
  • Instant coffee and soluble beverage machines
  • Associated grinders, milk refrigeration systems, water filtration systems and ancillary equipment

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical and water-related faults
  • Carrying out reactive breakdown repairs
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Installing and commissioning new coffee and beverage equipment
  • Decommissioning and relocating equipment where required
  • Diagnosing faults involving pumps, boilers, valves, grinders, sensors, control boards and brewing systems
  • Servicing fresh milk systems, including refrigeration, milk delivery and foaming systems
  • Calibrating machines and grinders to ensure consistent beverage quality
  • Carrying out equipment safety and operational checks
  • Managing spare parts and vehicle stock effectively
  • Completing accurate service reports and recording parts used
  • Providing professional and clear updates to customers
  • Working closely with our technical, operations, sales and account management teams
  • Representing Nairobi Coffee & Tea Co Ltd professionally at all customer sites

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience working within the commercial coffee machine, beverage equipment or closely related sector
  • Strong hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial coffee machines
  • Experience working with bean-to-cup machines
  • Experience with powdered milk and fresh milk systems
  • Experience servicing traditional commercial espresso machines
  • Experience with bulk brew and/or instant beverage equipment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • The confidence to work independently in a field-based role
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • A professional and reliable approach
  • A full valid UK driving licence
  • The flexibility to travel regularly to customer sites

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Manufacturer-specific coffee machine training
  • Experience across multiple commercial coffee equipment brands
  • Experience with fresh milk refrigeration and foaming systems
  • Knowledge of water filtration and water treatment systems
  • Experience with commercial grinders
  • Relevant electrical or technical qualifications
  • Experience installing and commissioning commercial coffee equipment
