The Role
Are you a passionate and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in people's lives? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dedicated Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service within East Dunbartonshire HSCP. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide specialist CBT assessment and treatment to adults experiencing substance misuse and co-existing mental health difficulties, while working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Full-time, permanent
- You will be based at Kirkintilloch Health and Social Care Centre
- Working pattern: Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist cognitive behavioural therapy assessments and interventions for adults with substance misuse and co-existing mental health difficulties
- Manage a complex clinical caseload and provide evidence-based treatment tailored to individual needs
- Undertake specialist risk assessments and develop clinical formulations to support treatment planning
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
- Provide consultation, advice and guidance to healthcare professionals on CBT approaches and interventions
- Deliver clinical supervision, teaching and training to colleagues and other professional groups
- Contribute to service development, clinical audit, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from a BABCP accredited training programme
- Significant relevant experience within the NHS and delivering CBT in a mental health setting
- Experience of assessing and treating individuals with a broad range of mental health presentations and varying levels of complexity
- Strong skills in cognitive behavioural assessment, formulation, intervention and clinical risk management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information sensitively and effectively
- Experience providing consultation, support and professional guidance within multidisciplinary settings
- Ability to manage workload independently, prioritise effectively and work collaboratively as part of a specialist team
