Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist – Bupa (Dartford)
Location Mindplace Dartford Crossways Business Park, Dartford, DA2 6QH
Contract Type Permanent (part-time)*
Hours & Shift Details
- Part-time available (minimum of 2 days per week)
- Coordinate shift preference: Choose from:
- Early shift: 08:00–16:00
- Late shift: 14:00–22:00 (at least one late shift required)
- Daily sessions: 5 appointments (face-to-face, telephone, or video)
- Note: Salary prorated according to full-time equivalent.
About the Role
You’ll help us make health happen—at Bupa, we reinvest profits into supporting you and your patients. In this role, as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, you’ll deliver high-quality CBT while shaping clinical improvement and patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical
- Provide evidence-based therapy through CBT (or low-level brief interventions), ensuring measurable outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and tailor care plans.
- Offer multichannel therapy (face-to-face, telephone, or video) per client preference.
- Collaborate with clinical leads and teams to adhere to Bupa’s case management processes and insurance policy limits.
Assessment & Referrals
- Evaluate and recommend ** SBS funding pathways** or onward referrals.
- Deliver one-off assessments, training, and group psychoeducation (e.g., webinars, workshops).
- Signpost clients for ad-hoc wellbeing support.

Autonomy & Professional Development
- Act within BABCP, NHS IAPT, and Bupa guidelines, prioritising clinical excellence.
- Participate in regular group and individual supervision, aligning with Bupa’s practices.
Client & Operational Support
- Work with teams to improve patient experience and operational efficiency.
- Maintain professional boundaries, incluyendo sessional limits based on funding allowance.
- Utilize Bupa’s electronic systems and digital platforms.
Requirements: Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Full accreditation with the BABCP.
- A BABCP-accredited Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT (High Intensity).
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in high-intensity CBT, including:
- View of diverse mental health presentations.
- Proven expertise in initiative and outcome-focused care (SBS funding, Bupa’s case management).
Desirable
- Specialisation in EMDR or other modalities (e.g., girafe ).
Professional & Practice Skills
- Strong foundation in CBT techniques, including formulation-driven care.
- Confidence in group/psychoeducation for corporate/clinical audiences.
- Familiarity with insurance-based therapies (e.g., utilisation monitoring).
Soft Skills
- Effective communication (oral/written) to prioritise, evaluate, and drive care paths.
- Time-bound autonomy—excellent at balancing scheduling, cost constraints, and therapeutic goals.
- Problem-solving and team collaboration without micromanagement.
- Comfort in technology (Bupa record systems/EHR) + flexibility in hybrid delivery.
