Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist – Face-to-Face

About the Role

Based at: Mindplace Winchester, 129 High Street, SO23 9AX

Contract: Permanent (Part-time hours available – minimum of 2 days per week*)

Salary: From £47,000 per annum* (pro-rata for part-time equivalent)

This role will see you as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist providing high-quality, safe, and effective Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).


Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality CBT or low-level brief interventions, demonstrating exceptional clinical outcomes.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and formulations drive evidence-based interventions; ensuring client-centred pathways of care.
  • Adapting to multiple service delivery models: face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations based on client preference.
  • Upholding Bupa’s case management processes, collaborating with Clinical Leads and therapy teams.
  • Adhering to sessional limits based on clients’ insurance policies while supporting therapeutic recovery.
  • Providing signposting or onward referrals as required, alongside ad-hoc mental wellness support and coaching.
  • Conducting assessments and referring to appropriate services where needed.
  • Leading group psychoeducation, promoting mental health awareness through remote workshops, presentations, and training.
  • Maintaining professional autonomy within BABCP guidelines and Bupa’s service framework, ensuring ethical practice.
  • Engaging in clinical supervision to support continuously improved patient care.
  • Enhancing client and employee experiences by identifying operational improvements.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Full BABCP accreditation with a Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT/High-Intensity Techniques (BABCP-accredited).
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience delivering high-intensity CBT intervals with diverse client presentations.

Desirable Additional Qualifications & Skills

  • Additional psychological treatment trainings, including EMDR.
  • Experience or qualifications related to corporate mental health integration.
  • Strong leadership, management, and team coaching skills.

Key Technical & Soft Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Systems and electronic medical records.
  • Exceptional time and workload management under pressure.
  • Exceptional client liaison and show-proven collaboration experience.
  • Clincial intuition and evidence-based application of CBT protocols.
  • Great interpersonal communication skills both in verbal and written formats.
  • High professional drive with self-direction, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to meet individual caseload targets and understand time-bound session obligations.
  • Motioning organisational efficiency through diary management and autonomous functioning.

Personal Attributes Required

  • Strong communication skills for emotional intelligent interaction.
  • Proficiency in managing time effectively within a busy psychological practice.
  • A tendency to work independently while integrating seamlessly into multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sensitivity to business considerations due to the commercial nature of CBT provision.

Additional Details

Hour Availability Alternating availability Monday-Friday, with:

  • 08:00 – 16:00 (early shifts), 14:00 – 22:00 (late shifts).
  • Requires at least one late shift per week.
  • Monthly Saturdays from 08:30 - 17:00 with at least one per 3 weekends.
  • Each day includes 5 appointments.
