Collection & Delivery Manager

£40,457 per annum, potential 15% bonus and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

We have a Collection and Delivery Manager vacancy at the Medway Local Depot in which you will be responsible for leading a team, be accountable for health and safety, and operational quality, cost and people KPI’s.

About The Role

As a line manager to a team of approx 45+ drivers plus warehouse staff, admin and self employed drivers, you will be able to achieve maximum efficiency through resource and contingency planning driving quality of service and maximising productivity. Working to tight timescales you will drive the depot to achieve the highest possible customer service satisfaction levels whilst also ensuring a swift resolution to all customer enquiries and complaints.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the performance of your unit, effectively maintaining the quality of service for our customers and the overall safety of the people you manage whilst working closely with the local sales team to increase revenue opportunities and highlight any network conformance issues.

Attendance

Monday - Friday, 13:00 - 21:00 (hours of attendance may vary due to role requirements). Plus one weekend per month (Saturday 06:00 - 17:00 and Sunday 06:00 - 14:00).

About You

It takes more than organisational skills to be a manager. we’re looking for individuals with a passion for people and the following skills and experiences:

  • From a express parcels background with some experience of working in a unionised environment
  • Managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance, service and achieving KPIs
  • Drive high customer satisfaction by ensuring service quality and managing swift resolutions
  • Ensure health & safety compliance across all night operations, maintaining a safe working environment
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members to work to high standards
  • Experience of introducing improvements and successfully guiding people through significant periods of change
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with your team, unions and key stakeholders
  • Experience of managing resources and budgets
