Role Description

The Collection Executive is a full-time, hybrid role responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts on behalf of clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Debtor Engagement:

    • Contacting debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve outstanding debts.
    • Negotiating payment plans and enforcing agreed terms.
    • Assessing debtor accounts and prioritising collections based on financial impact.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting:

    • Maintaining accurate financial records and collection status updates.
    • Preparing performance reports on debt recovery metrics and progress.
  • Escalation & Compliance:

    • Collaborating with internal teams to align on collection strategies.
    • Following established credit control policies and escalating cases for legal action where required.
    • Ensuring all interactions adhere to professional, respectful, and confidential standards.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven 3+ years of experience in debt collection or credit control.
  • Strong expertise in managing overdue accounts and payment negotiations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal ability.
  • Confident negotiation and dispute-resolution experience.
  • Solid analytical skills to assess debtor financial profiles and prioritise collections.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance, including invoicing, payment terms, and cash flow impact.

Technical & Professional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management and confidentiality protocol understanding.
  • Proficiency in CRM/collections software and basic office productivity tools (advantageous).
  • Ability to attend client sites/offices intermittently as part of hybrid responsibilities.

Preferred but Not Mandatory

  • A relevant qualification in finance, business, or a related field.

Location Requirement

  • Must be based in the UK.
