Debt Collection Negotiator
Location: Thorpe Park, Leeds, Hybrid working.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 09:00-18:30 and occasional Saturdays 09:00-13:00
Start date: We have start dates for August and will be running an Assessment Centre on Tuesday 28th of July—we look forward to meeting you!
Join us as a Debt Collection Negotiator.
You'll be part of a supportive, target-driven team where you'll work towards clear goals while delivering great service to our clients. Day to day, you’ll be speaking with customers over the phone—both inbound and outbound—gathering the right information to help create realistic and fair repayment plans. You’ll also be negotiating settlements, identifying when someone might be in a vulnerable situation, and making sure they get the right support. Between calls, you’ll be reviewing and updating account records, reaching out to businesses to find the right contacts, and verifying company details online. You’ll also handle messages and correspondence via email, SMS, and post, including cases involving Debt Management Companies. It’s a varied role where attention to detail and following processes really matter—but you’ll never be on your own.
What We Are Looking For
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong listening and empathy.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities, able to prioritise effectively.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate and contribute in a supportive environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently without supervision.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, maintaining consistently high work standards.
- Previous experience in debt recovery is preferred but not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
