Job Title: Collections Specialist
Location: Milton Keynes/London - Majority remote working with ad hoc office requirements
Type: Permanent - Working hours aligned to US EST (11am - 7pm/12pm - 8pm UK time)
We are hiring for a Collections Specialist to join us permanently on a hybrid working basis from our Milton Keynes office. With this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end credit and collections activity across an assigned portfolio of client ledgers/accounts.
Within this role you will also be accountable for delivering strong cash collection performance, reducing overdue debt, supporting appropriate credit controls, resolving queries/disputes efficiently, and improving working capital outcomes in line with agreed KPIs, targets, Global RWC and Global DSO objectives.
You will be expected to support month-end and year-end processes (cut-offs, backlog and ageing management, cash forecasting inputs, AR substantiation support and audit-ready evidence) and contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring root causes (e.g., billing accuracy, service delivery issues, master data/portal defects) and proposing practical fixes in partnership with Billing, Operations and the wider OTC team. The role also supports the OTC Tower Lead (via the Team Leader/Manager structure) by embedding global standards and standard ways of working, providing operational feedback, and supporting alignment to global processes and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end credit control and collections activity for an assigned portfolio, driving timely cash collection and reducing overdue debt.
- Proactively contact customers (phone and email) to secure payments, agree commitments, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Monitor and prioritise accounts based on risk, ageing, and value to maximise cash recovery and minimise credit exposure.
- Investigate and resolve billing queries and disputes quickly, partnering with internal teams to remove barriers to payment.
- Deliver against KPIs including cash collection, aged debt reduction, and DSO targets, contributing to wider team performance.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and audit-ready documentation across all customer interactions and account activity.
- Support credit risk management through credit checks, monitoring customer exposure, and escalating high-risk accounts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying root causes of disputes and recommending process enhancements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
