College Assessor Trainer

We are seeking a College Assessor Trainer to join our team.

In this role you will support vocational learners through practical, hands-on training rather than traditional classroom teaching. The role focuses on facilitating skill development, coaching learners in workshop and community settings, and assessing competence against industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting assessments
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Maintaining workshop equipment and safe working environments

The role also involves liaising with local employers and customers to ensure training aligns with workforce needs and industry expectations, helping learners become work-ready and professionally competent.

Job title: College Assessor Trainer - Engineering and Manufacturing

Permanent, Full Time

About the role:

  • To train and assess candidates towards agreed qualifications on site at the college.
  • To maintain high expectations of learner's work, commitment, and behaviour, taking action to ensure the highest of standards are met.
  • Maintaining training workshops involves ensuring that all tools, machinery, and equipment are safe, functional, and fit for purpose to support effective practical training. This includes carrying out routine inspections, basic maintenance, and safety checks in line with health and safety regulations.
  • To prepare materials and equipment as needed by teaching staff and students in a timely, effective and efficient manner.
  • To complete all required awarding organisation documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring full compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • To continuously evaluate and improve the quality of learning and teaching within your delivery utilising and engaging with the college's development and observation programmes.
  • To carry out and oversee practical community or college projects ensuring high standards of work are always maintained.

Essential Experience:

  • Industry experience within relevant sector.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in required subject or equivalent
