College Governor - Wirral Metropolitan College
We are looking for a College Governor to join our team. This is a voluntary position in which you can play a central role in supporting learners, employers, and the local economy.

Job Purpose / Key Responsibilities
- Attending in-person Board meetings at our Birkenhead campuses four times a year
- Joining Committee meetings remotely via Teams three to four times a year
- Conducting advanced meeting preparation, including reading papers and preparing constructive questions
- Responding to emails from the Governance Professional regarding Board business between meetings
- Representing the Board at College events, including Graduation and Staff Awards
- Staying updated with sector developments

Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in law, property/estates, or HR/people management
- Ability to think strategically, ask constructive questions, and champion good governance
- A strong commitment to education, opportunity, and inclusion
- Capacity to commit approximately eight hours per month, with flexibility for variations across months
- Previous governance experience desirable but not essential
