Marketing Officer – Southend Campus

Are you a creative, organised and confident marketer who wants to make a visible impact?
South Essex Colleges Group is entering an important period of growth and transformation, and our Marketing and Communications team has a key role to play in shaping how we promote our colleges, courses and student experience.
We are looking for a Marketing Officer to lead day-to-day marketing activity for our Southend campus. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will help promote our courses, raise the profile of the college, support student recruitment and bring our stories to life across digital, print, social media and events.
South Essex Colleges Group is a leading provider of further and higher education in Essex, with colleges in Southend-on-Sea, Basildon and Thurrock. We offer a wide range of courses, including vocational qualifications, apprenticeships, A-levels, adult learning and higher education programmes delivered in partnership with leading universities.

In this role, you will work closely with curriculum, admissions, events and wider marketing colleagues to create engaging campaigns and content that inspire prospective students, parents, adult learners and local communities.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and supporting digital and traditional marketing campaigns
- Creating content for social media and the college website
- Producing email marketing activity
- Promoting open days and recruitment events
- Identifying positive stories that showcase our students, staff, courses and facilities
You will also play an important role in maintaining brand consistency and ensuring that our marketing activity is accurate, engaging and aligned to student recruitment priorities.
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven marketing experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisation
- A creative approach to content and campaign delivery
Experience within education would be an advantage, but more important is your ability to build relationships, manage competing priorities and turn ideas into effective marketing activity.

The role will require occasional evening and weekend work to support open days, school events and other recruitment activity.
