Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse looking for a rewarding challenge? The East Site Colorectal Nursing team seeks a self-motivated practitioner with a passion for clinical excellence. The ideal candidate will join an established colorectal nursing team, providing nursing support across inpatient and outpatient areas.
- Welsh speaking ability is desirable, but applicants with strong English and/or Welsh skills are equally welcome.
About the Role
This role offers an opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary colorectal care team, delivering high-quality patient care alongside doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting inpatient and outpatient colorectal services to ensure patients receive appropriate management/treatment.
- Assisting in shortening patient hospital stays through tailored assessment, planning, and evaluation.
- Working collaboratively with the colorectal team to deliver holistic care for both elective and emergency patients.

The successful candidate will:
- Provide clinical care in alignment with the broader colorectal team, ensuring patients benefit from multidisciplinary support.
- Assist in patient pathways, contributing to competent and timely care.
- Act as a key point of contact for inpatient and outpatient needs.
- Promote clinical excellence through evidence-based practice.

Experience (Essential Criteria)
- Specialist knowledge and experience in cancer/colorectal care.
- Experience in service development.
- Clinical skills relevant to the speciality.
- Experience conducting research and audit.
- Band 6 post-registration experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, SharePoint).
- Ability to manage and interpret complex health communications, including delivering sensitive information (e.g., breaking bad news).
- Experience working in multi-professional settings.
Desirable Criteria (Same as "Meets Desirable Criteria"—implicit from structure; not repeated unless explicitly listed as such in full form elsewhere)
Qualifications (Essential Criteria)
- Current NMC registration.
- Relevant specialist qualification.
- A degree in a related healthcare field (e.g., nursing).
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Bronze IQT certification.
