Overview
Expleo is a global company and a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services and management consulting. This role is to support Expleo to deliver work to customers developing Naval Combat and Mission systems, and will initially require 3 days onsite in Bristol.
Responsibilities
- Undertake technical work activities within a system engineering context.
- Work as part of a technical team in support of project objectives.
- Assist in the production of technical documentation in support of work carried out.
- Engaging with stakeholders, project managers and senior technical staff to ensure customer and business needs are satisfied appropriately and problems are mitigated.
- Advising on:
- How combat systems should be developed, acquired and evolved
- Test, evaluation and acceptance of combat systems and their constituent equipment
- Interface management and development
- Requirements management
- System of system architectures
- Lifecycle management and reviews
- Subcontractor technical management
- The identification and rectification of defects such as those encountered during operational service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.

Essential skills
- Requirements identification and management
- Acceptance identification and management
- Subcontractor technical management
- IVVQA experience
- Certification experience MOD defence
Desired skills
- Experience: In the defence industry.
- Technical/Specialized Knowledge: Lean/Agile methodology, experience with naval systems or/and mission systems is highly desirable.
- Tools: Experience with JIRA, DOORS, EA
- Experience in product/system design/evolution
- Ability to identify delivery and technical issues, adherence to work plans and schedules, reporting of progress, issues etc. to more senior staff.
- Hold or be eligible to gain UK gov security clearance.
Experience
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in System Engineering area
- Relevant engineering/systems engineering experience ISO 15228 or similar
- Knowledge, or expertise in any/some of the following. They are listed in priority order.
- EW
- Comms systems, HF to Satcom and networks
- C4I, CMS
- DEW
- Combat system infrastructures, cloud computing, virtualisation, middleware, open systems and architectures
- MBSE
- AI
- Data fusion
- Devsecops
- Sonar
- UAVs
- Navigation systems
