Community Services Coordinator – Janitor/Cleaner (16 Hours Per Week)

SCLA/TC Deliver Cleaning Services – Rutherglen and Cambuslang

Key Details

  • Location: Various sites in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
  • Term Time Hours: 16 hours per week.
  • Work Schedule:
    • Monday to Friday: 6:00pm – 10:00pm
    • Weekends: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Hourly Rate: £14.12 – £14.27.
  • Work Pattern: 5 days over 7 (as above).

About the Role

South Lanarkshire Council is a forward-thinking organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of its residents through ambitious initiatives. Community and Enterprise Resources manage cleaning services across multiple council premises, including schools, council offices, and police stations.

The Janitor/Cleaner will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in these environments. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Core Tasks:

    • Regular cleaning of floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas, walls, windows glass, and internal/external doors and windowsills.
    • Adherence to COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), including the safe use of cleaning agents.
    • Monitoring cleaning standards and reporting required actions to management.
    • Being responsible for setting up rooms for rent and ensuring handover guidelines are followed.
    • Reporting health and safety concerns or potential breaches as the first point of contact on-site.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Assisting with minor repairs or maintenance (under supervision).
    • Handling and addressing any special requests related to cleaning.
