Location: Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA
Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm
Salary: £52,392 - £53,177 annual salary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join and play a leading role within our Traffic and Transportation team.
The postholder will take a leading role in the development and delivery of traffic and transportation projects, including traffic engineering, funding bids, active travel, road safety and bus infrastructure schemes. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and technical guidance (e.g. TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and associated Acts), and apply this expertise.
You should have significant experience in the development and delivery of traffic and transportation related projects, including budget management, procurement and financial monitoring.
A sound understanding of existing strategy and policy within this field and the ability to effectively contribute to its future development will be required. You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, managing competing priorities, while contributing effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must have experience in the use of AutoCad and other design and assessment related software.
Successful candidates must have a HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent in a relevant subject, and ideally you should be an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards this.
You will be expected to travel throughout the Council area. A commitment to customer focus, service delivery and responsiveness will be vital as will the ability to commit to our constant efforts to refine, innovate and improve delivery. For this post and others across the Service we have adopted a flexible approach to working arrangements.
