About the Role
We are currently seeking a Commercial Account Executive to join our professional and forward-thinking office in Newbury.
This role demands a strong understanding of client business operations, including opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance. You will need proven experience in presenting and securing complex commercial insurance solutions—whether for renewals or new business—as part of an account programme.
The role places a premium on relationship management and client service techniques. Annual targets focus on maintaining and driving income growth through portfolio expansion and securing new business.

Key Responsibilities
New Business & Renewals
- Achieve targets for new business and renewals
- Engage proactively with marketing strategies and leads
Client Relations & Development
- Develop and nurture introducer relationships
- Generate organic leads and effectively manage a new business pipeline
- Cross-sell opportunities to other departments
- Expand accounts by identifying additional sales opportunities with existing clients
- Conduct client visits, completing fact-finding documents
Brokerage & Underwriting
- Review past documentation (renewals) and update it alongside current fact-finding
- Analyze client demands and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
- Prepare detailed broking notes for new business cases
- Collaborate with the Account Handler (AH) to update renewal notes
- Develop and execute broking strategy, negotiating with underwriters where needed

Administrative & Compliance
- Prepare closing instructions in compliance with company policies
- Pass instructions for processing to the Account Handler (AH)

Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years’ commercial insurance experience (essential)
- Ability to handle:
- New business enquiries
- Policy renewals
- Midterm adjustments
- Deep understanding of commercial insurance products and options
- Acturis insurance broking software familiarity—a plus
- Commitment to progressing toward Cert CII
- Full UK driving licence required
