Commercial Accountant (Recently Qualified Opportunity)

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a leading and highly successful manufacturing organisation with a strong heritage, ambitious growth plans, and a reputation for investing in its people. Operating across multiple markets and supplying a diverse customer base, the business is continuing to strengthen its finance function and is now seeking a Commercial Accountant to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly or recently qualified accountant looking to accelerate their career within a commercially focused finance role. You'll join a collaborative, forward-thinking organisation where finance plays a key role in driving performance, profitability, and strategic decision-making.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior commercial finance leader, you will work closely with commercial, operational, and finance stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight that supports business performance and growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with commercial and operational teams to analyse performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing commercial insight and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Preparing product costings for existing and new product lines.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business planning processes.
  • Challenging and interpreting financial and operational data to improve profitability.
  • Driving enhancements in financial reporting and business processes.
  • Building strong working relationships across the organisation to ensure financial information is understood and acted upon.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • Newly qualified or recently qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, although part-qualified candidates nearing completion will also be considered.
  • Commercially minded with a genuine interest in understanding how a business operates and generates profit.
  • A strong communicator, capable of presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Analytical with excellent financial modelling and data interpretation skills.
  • Naturally curious, proactive, and solutions-focused.
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience within a commercial finance environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
