Role: Commercial Accountant
Location: Leeds, LS15 8GB
We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.
Salary: £42,500 - £52,500 DOE, plus extensive benefits
Contract type: Permanent
Employment type: Full time
Working hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week. We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

The Commercial Accountant plays a key role in driving financial performance through analysis, forecasting, and business partnering across the organisation. Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager and Finance Director, the role provides timely insights, real-time forecasting, and meaningful performance commentary to inform decision-making.
By working closely with stakeholders and budget holders, the role helps identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and profitability, while also supporting the financial modelling and evaluation of new projects and initiatives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

What you'll be doing?
- Design, maintain and enhance detailed financial models to accurately forecast business performance, providing clear variance analysis and commentary to budget holders
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting processes to support business performance
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers, tracking performance and assessing their impact on financial outcomes
- Analyse trends and performance data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders to support growth and profitability
- Partner with stakeholders and budget owners across the business to provide real-time financial insights and support decision-making
- Support commercial tenders, projects and new initiatives through robust financial modelling, cost analysis and scenario planning
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation, including regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team
- Support the Commercial Finance Manager and Finance Director with ad-hoc analysis, reporting and strategic initiatives
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, contributing to effective financial governance and decision-making

Who are we looking for?
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to analyse data and support strategic decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyse large and complex data sets
- Qualified, part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience (QBE)
- Proven ability to communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and innovative approach to identifying solutions
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering to tight deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring work is completed to a high standard
- Ability to build effective working relationships and confidently partner with stakeholders across the business
- Inquisitive mindset, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and contribute new ideas while remaining collaborative
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and act independently to achieve objectives
