Commercial Assistant – London / Net Zero (Formwork)

  • Utility Infrastructure – We design, build, and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power, and telecoms infrastructure for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.
  • Social Infrastructure – We revitalise homes and communities through retrofit, refurbishment, and maintenance projects.

Job Description

As part of our fast-growing Commercial Team, you’ll support the delivery and profitability of projects through meticulous commercial administration, compliance with contract terms, and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll assist with:

  • Contract management in adherence to JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C)
  • Subcontractor negotiations, payments, and performance monitoring
  • Accurate completion of Measured Works (Certificates of Measurement) and billing processes
  • Monthly reconciliation of costs and generation of Earned Value Analysis reports
  • Maintenance of comprehensive commercial documentation

Requirements

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs/ Equivalent (grades 9-4 (C or above)): Maths, English, and preferably a Science
  • Standard methods of measurement understanding
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (critical for financial analysis and reporting)
  • Numerical and analytical skills with a capacity for detailed work under pressure
  • Willingness to learn and extend knowledge of industry databases/software
  • Full UK driving licence (travel required)

Desirable

  • Experience with NHF SoR (Schedule of Rates) or similar bespoke framework rates
  • ** Level 4 qualification related to construction/commercial fields
  • Industry experience in subcontracting, contracts administration, or quantity surveying
  • Relevant exposure to NEC/JCT contracts or commercial processes
