About the Role

My client, based in St Helens, is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Commercial Administrator to join their growing team within the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is driven, organised, and looking to build a long-term career within a successful and expanding business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the commercial function, ensuring the accurate administration of projects, contracts, financial information, and reporting. This position offers genuine opportunities for development and progression for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the organisation.

Your New Role

The position is offered full time, Monday to Friday, and fully based on site. Free parking is available on site.

Some of your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Commercial Manager and wider commercial team with day-to-day administration.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and updating commercial records, reports, and project documentation.
  • Assisting with applications for payment, valuations, invoices, and subcontractor documentation.
  • Managing project files and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Producing and analysing reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Monitoring project costs and supporting financial tracking activities.
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • General office and administrative duties as required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Has previous administration experience, ideally within construction, engineering, utilities, or a commercial environment.
  • Is commercially aware and keen to develop their understanding of construction and project delivery.
  • Has strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident working with numbers and financial information.
  • Proactive, driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Has a positive attitude and a genuine desire to develop their career within a growing organisation.
