Role Purpose
We are looking for a commercially minded and analytically strong Commercial Analyst to support the growth and optimisation of our energy supply portfolio. Reporting to Head of Trading and Renewables, the Commercial Analyst will provide commercial insight and market analysis to support pricing, tendering, trading activity, and risk management, while helping identify opportunities to improve performance and support the integration of renewable energy solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise Evolve's energy portfolio
- Deliver accurate and timely commercial analysis to support business planning, forecasting, and decision-making associated with trading activities, including price volatility and market liquidity
- Analyse sales, margin, pricing, cost, and profitability data to identify risks, opportunities associated with trading activities
- Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, TPI's, and other market participants
- Undertaking the tendering process for gas and electricity, and produce analysis and recommendations to the wider team
- Responsible for the issue and accuracy of Procurement Reporting
- Reporting and integration of Evolve's renewable assets and PPAs
- Support pricing reviews, contract analysis, and business cases
- Support ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Provide input and analysis into the development of new products
- Have a logical, analytical, and pragmatic approach to problem solving

Personal Skills and Experience
- Detailed understanding of energy markets and drivers and non-commodities
- Monitoring customers' energy hedge position reports and transacted trades conducted by the traders
- Supporting senior team members in formulating strategy, pre-trade analysis, execution, post-trade analysis, allocations, and settlement across multiple strategies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is commercially aware and previous experience in an analytical role within the energy industry is essential, including a solid understanding of UK energy markets and the factors that influence them. They are able to interpret complex information and apply it in a clear, practical way to support trading and decision-making. They work effectively with traders and wider stakeholders, communicating insights clearly and confidently. They are well organised, comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, and take a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
