Commercial Assistant

Commercial Assistant – Supplier Management (Hybrid)

Location: Glasgow Salary: £29.9k–£35.9k per annum (dependent on skills and qualifications) Contract: Full-Time | Hybrid Reference: REQ5772

About the Role

SGN is seeking a proactive and organised Commercial Assistant to join our Supplier Management team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in commercial and contract management within a regulated and operationally critical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting contractor payment and certification processes
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records, trackers, and documentation
  • Assisting with variation management and commercial governance activities
  • Providing support for reporting, audit, and compliance requirements
  • Offering administrative and commercial back-office support across Supplier Management activities
  • Enforcing consistency and continuous improvement in commercial processes

  • Commercial governance
  • Variation tracking

What You Will Bring

  • Strong organisational, administrative, and numeracy skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail for maintaining accurate commercial records
  • Experience (desirable) with financial, commercial, or contract administration processes
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including:
    • Excel
    • Word
    • SharePoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively, prioritise multiple tasks, and operate across teams

Desirable (but not mandatory) Qualifications and Experience

  • Background in utilities, construction, infrastructure, or regulated industries
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and/or Construction Act processes
  • Prior experience in commercial, procurement, or supplier management roles
