Position Details
- Annual salary: Up to £28,516.62
- Location: Leeds
- Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
About the Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated Commercial Assistant to join our team in the Leeds office. In this supportive role, you’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager & Head of Operations and the wider commercial team to help maintain effective commercial control and accurate reporting across our housing property contracts.
You’ll support day-to-day commercial, administrative, and customer-facing duties, ensuring costs are controlled, processes are followed, and operations run smoothly. Ideal for those building or developing a career in commercial environments within a leading housing and care provider.
Role Responsibilities
Core Support & Reporting
- Assist the Commercial Manager & Head of Operations in maintaining commercial control and accurate reporting across housing maintenance contracts
- Support cost control activities, ensuring information is recorded accurately and aligned with company procedures
- Promote best-practice commercial processes to maximise value recovery and customer service standards
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Handle administrative tasks across local operations and internal departments
- Record and professionally respond to client and service user communications in a timely manner
- Support materials requisitions, purchase orders, and invoicing processes
- Input cost and work order data to timely completion and billing
- Communicate updates to service users regarding ongoing works

Customer Service & Compliance
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information sharing
- Maintain company assets in line with policy and report damages/potential issues promptly
- Uphold excellence in professionalism, health & safety, and customer care
Additional Support
- Provide commercial and administrative support to quantity surveyors, including pricing and general commercial tasks
Role Criteria
Key Skills & Abilities
- Strong time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills
- Competent in using computerised systems and Microsoft Office
- Proficient in written, numeracy, verbal, and interpersonal communication
- Strong customer service orientation with a professional approach
- Ability to effectively liaise with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders
- Commitment to health & safety requirements and company procedures
