About CD Fencing & Construction Services Ltd

We are a long-standing, respected contractor delivering fencing, barriers, traffic management, and infrastructure services across the UK. Our projects range from local highways to major national infrastructure.


About the Role

We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our commercial team. This is a hands-on role supporting quantity surveying and tendering activities. It’s a great opportunity for someone reliable, analytical, and eager to build a career in commercial management.


Responsibilities

  • Preparing valuations for clients
  • Performing cost analysis and reporting on completed projects
  • Supporting tendering and estimating activities
  • Assisting with risk and opportunity reviews
  • Providing commercial support to operational teams in works delivery
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and client standards

About the Organisation

  • Temporary to Permanent contract after successful probation
  • 28 days paid holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Exposure to a broad range of commercial and operational projects
  • Competitive salary, starting from £25,000 per annum (depending on experience)

What We Expect

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with good knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent skills in organisation and time management
  • Confidence in working in a small, focused team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • A construction-related qualification (HNC or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
  • Interest in developing a long-term career in quantity surveying

About You

You’ll be self-motivated, proactive, and able to communicate effectively at all levels. You’ll bring an analytical mindset, a strong customer focus, and ambition to progress in a commercial role. Prior highways or construction knowledge is an advantage, but we provide training and development.
