About SpectraNova

SpectraNova is developing a low-cost, AI-enabled sensing platform for continuous environmental and industrial water monitoring.

Our vision is to become the intelligence layer for water and soil, enabling organisations to monitor, understand and improve environmental health through affordable, real-time sensing.

We are looking for an ambitious Commercial Associate to help us build our presence in the water and food&beverage sectors. Working closely with the founders and experienced industry advisors, you will help shape our commercial strategy, create / develop customer relationships, and accelerate pilot projects across water utilities and water-intensive industries.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 2–5 years' business development experience, ideally from the water or food&beverage sector, who wants to play a key role in an early-stage deeptech / climatetech company.

Commitment: 1 day per week (flexible), with a small day rate plus equity.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships across the UK water innovation ecosystem.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the operational challenges faced by water utilities and water-intensive industries.
  • Conduct customer discovery interviews and gather structured market feedback.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, procurement trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Build relationships with water utilities, industrial wastewater operators, engineering consultancies and technology partners.
  • Identify and support pilot opportunities.
  • Help develop proposals, presentations and partnership opportunities.
  • Become SpectraNova's internal commercial lead for the water sector over time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
