Commercial Banking Specialist – West Midlands
My client is a highly successful, fast-growing commercial finance and advisory business with an established Birmingham office, a successful and highly regarded funding team, and a strong national footprint. As the business continues to grow, they're looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Banking Specialist to further develop their presence across the West Midlands.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an established relationship banker, commercial finance broker or funding specialist with a strong network, who enjoys winning new business and delivering tailored funding solutions. Working with one of the UK's most extensive lending panels, you'll be responsible for identifying funding opportunities through your network, understanding clients' requirements and placing transactions with the most appropriate lender. Rather than being restricted to a single bank's appetite, you'll have access to an exceptional range of funding products and lenders, enabling you to provide truly independent, best-fit funding solutions.
You'll be encouraged to leverage your existing network whilst continuing to build relationships with accountants, solicitors, professional introducers and business owners across the West Midlands, supported by an experienced Birmingham-based team and a well-established national business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
