Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Regional Sales Director, the purpose of the Commercial Bid Manager is:
- End-to-End Bid Management: Lead the entire bid lifecycle, from identifying initial customer requirements and managing "Go/No-Go" decisions to the final submission of detailed technical proposals.
- Commercial Strategy & Win Themes: Develop compelling value propositions that highlight LRQA’s differentiators.
- Identify, grow and develop new tender opportunities – via portals, partnerships, sales teams, social media, networking, marketing, etc.
- Bid Writing: Write and support winning bids based upon proven delivery.
- Pricing & Risk Modelling: Build complex financial models for large-scale tenders, accounting for global labour costs, travel logistics, and technical resource utilization.
- Creation and development of Bid library
- Cross Sell all service portfolio: Ensure all value adds, additional services and future solutions are included in every bid.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with Technical Product Leads, Service Delivery Managers, and Legal teams to ensure all bids are operationally feasible and commercially sound.
- Contractual Oversight: Review and negotiate terms and conditions for major contracts to mitigate commercial and technical risks.

Required Skills & Experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in bid management, ideally within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector or high-stakes professional services.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code) and supply chain inspection services.
- Financial Acumen: Advanced proficiency in Excel for cost modelling and a strong understanding of profit and loss (P&L) impact in a service-based business.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple complex, multi-workstream bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Communication & Writing: Exceptional proposal writing skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear, persuasive narratives for C-suite clients.
