Senior / Associate Commercial Building Surveyor

Suffolk / Cambridgeshire | £55,000–£75,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

Our client is an established and highly respected independent surveying practice experiencing continued growth across East Anglia. As a result, they are seeking an experienced Chartered Commercial Building Surveyor at Senior Surveyor or Associate level to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and flexible business that genuinely values work-life balance. The role would suit someone based in or around Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds or Ipswich, with projects and survey coverage tailored to the successful candidate's location.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering a broad range of commercial building surveying services across multiple sectors, including:

  • Commercial building surveys
  • Dilapidations
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Contract Administration
  • Acquisition Surveys
  • Technical Due Diligence assignments

The business operates a multidisciplinary model, giving surveyors exposure to a diverse range of work and the opportunity to broaden their expertise. Alongside traditional commercial surveying instructions, there may be opportunities to become involved in:

  • General practice surveying
  • Expert witness work

  • Residential surveying assignments

A dedicated administrative support team assists with report preparation and operational tasks, allowing surveyors to spend more time undertaking fee-earning work and less time behind a desk. Work-life balance is a genuine priority within the business.

About You

Applicants should be:

  • MRICS or MCIOB qualified
  • Experienced commercial building surveyors operating at Senior or Associate level
  • Comfortable managing projects and client relationships independently
  • Strong report writers with excellent technical knowledge
  • Client-focused and commercially minded professionals

You should have experience in:

  • Commercial building surveying across a variety of sectors
  • Dilapidations
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Contract Administration
  • Acquisition Surveys and Technical Due Diligence
  • Producing technically robust reports
  • Delivering clear, well-reasoned recommendations
  • Building and maintaining client relationships

A full UK driving licence is required.
