I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who we're looking for
Ideally, you are commercially astute with a successful background in contract cleaning and/or facilities management. Better still if this includes the delivery of commercial multi-soft services and the negotiation of long-term agreements. - Sound awareness of selling commercial cleaning and supporting FM service delivery functions across multi sector applications.
- An accomplished sales-driven hunter approach, with the ability to prospect, seek, qualify and close deals confidently, while making effective commercial judgments.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to initiate conversations, confidently promote the benefit and value of the sell, build rapport and develop and maintain effective client relationships.
- Presence and impact at meetings from first impression, portraying confidence, belief and a positive attitude.
- The ability to convert institutional frustrations and problems into viable, compliant and deliverable solutions.
- Exemplary attention to detail regarding IT skills, bid writing, preparing proposals and presentations, building costing sheets, understanding productivity rates, and applying sector specific knowledge to promote the success of the sales function.
- As a completer-finisher, the ability to manage a stream of relationships, projects, tenders and budgets effectively.
- Energy and enthusiasm, a winning mentality and desire to succeed, making your mark on the business through your own contribution and by collaborating with the wider team.
