Commercial Business Intelligence Manager
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Permanent
We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Business Intelligence Manager to join the team at our global HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne!
The Commercial Business Intelligence Manager will be responsible for enabling better business decisions through analytics, performance management, forecasting, scenario modelling, and AI-assisted insights. The role serves as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and the EIA function, translating business priorities into analytical initiatives that improve commercial performance, operational effectiveness, and strategic decision-making. The role ensures analytics moves beyond reporting historical performance towards enabling forward-looking, action-oriented decision support.
What you will be doing:
Business Insights & Decision Support
- Translate business questions into structured analytical frameworks that support decision-making.
- Responsibilities include:
- Analysing commercial performance across sales, margin and product portfolios
- Identifying trends, performance drivers and emerging risks
- Supporting leadership discussions with data-backed insights
- Producing structured analysis that informs commercial, operational and financial decisions
- Contributing to scenario modelling and forecasting analysis where required.
Enterprise KPI Framework Support
- Support the establishment and maintenance of the organisation’s enterprise KPI framework.
- Responsibilities include:
- Working with business stakeholders to clarify KPI definitions
- Ensuring consistency of metric implementation across dashboards
- Supporting KPI documentation and governance processes
- Identifying inconsistencies in reporting logic and proposing improvements
- Helping ensure analytics outputs align with certified data definitions.

Dashboard Development & Analytics Delivery
- Design and deliver analytics products that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining dashboards within approved BI platforms
- Applying strong data visualisation principles to improve usability
- Improving existing reports to increase clarity and adoption
- Reducing reliance on manual Excel-based reporting
- Supporting executive reporting through clear narrative and interpretation of data.
Analytical Data Preparation
- Work with the Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering, Platform teams to prepare datasets suitable for analysis.
- Responsibilities include:
- Querying enterprise datasets
- Validating data accuracy and investigating anomalies
- Supporting improvements to data models and transformations
- Performing data profiling and quality checks
- Ensuring analytical outputs are based on consistent and reliable data.
Commercial & Operational Analytics
- Provide analytical support across key business functions including Sales, Category, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
- Examples include:
- Sales performance and channel analysis
- Margin and pricing analysis
- Campaign effectiveness and marketing ROI
- Product portfolio performance
- Operational KPI monitoring.

Experimentation & Advanced Analytics
- Support the organisation’s development of more advanced analytical capabilities.
- Responsibilities include:
- Designing and evaluating experiments and A/B tests
- Supporting forecasting and predictive modelling initiatives
- Exploring opportunities for automation and AI-assisted analytics
- Contributing to the evaluation of emerging analytics technologies.
Stakeholder & Business Partnering
- Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders across the organisation.
- Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Sales, Category, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Regional Business Units and IT teams
- Translating business requirements into analytical solutions
- Communicating insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Supporting workshops and analytical discussions with business teams.
What skills and experiences you’ll need to ace this job:
- Proven experience in commercial analytics or business intelligence
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders using analytical insights
- Evidence of commercial decision support experience is crucial
- Experience designing analytical frameworks or KPI structures
- Experience delivering end-to-end analytical projects.
- Experience in FMCG, retail, marketplace or consumer-driven businesses is beneficial.
