Commercial Business Partner – Manchester/ Permanent / Hybrid / £70,000–£75,000 + Benefits
About the Team / The Role

As the Commercial Business Partner, you won’t just track metrics—you’ll actively shape them. Responsibilities include:
- Driving customer profitability
- Architecting financials for the 5-year strategy
- Ensuring Board visibility of commercial performance
What’s on Offer?
- Salary: £70,000–£75,000 (dependent on experience)

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Consultative Solution Design: Partner with Sales & Relationship teams to design tailored payment solutions that unlock commercial value for customers.

Technical Advisory: Act as a trusted technical partner for stakeholders, translating complex requirements into practical and scalable solutions—bridging gaps across development, finance, and operations.

Technical Delivery & Configuration: Ensure projects are executed with precision—building, configuring, and testing customer solutions for maximum efficiency.

Integration & Troubleshooting: Lead API/web service virtual card integration, diagnose technical challenges, and guarantee seamless connectivity with customer systems.

Project Leadership: Own and deliver end-to-end technical implementations, managing scope, timelines, risks, and stakeholder coordination—internally and externally.

Product Demonstrations & Customer Enablement: Deliver compelling technical demos and train customers on system functionality, reconciliation, and maintenance.

Voice of the Customer: Provide actionable feedback to Product & Engineering teams, influencing future product enhancements and innovation.

Board-Level Updates: Synthesise complex financial data into impactful quarterly decks, communicating strategic risks and opportunities with clarity.

KPI Management: Define and track key metrics like Customer Acquisition Cost, Lifetime Value, and Churn Impact.

Key Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or MBA with a strong quantitative background.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets required (VBA, Power Query, SQL a plus).
- Proven experience in commercial finance or FP&A, ideally in B2B, SaaS, or FMCG environments.
- Demonstrates a "Challenger" mindset—challenges Sales assumptions with data-driven insights.
- Communicates complex financials in a non-technical, persuasive manner.
- Strategic thinker—focuses on 5-year growth impact, not just quarterly wins.
