Commercial Contract Accountant – Permanent, Full-Time Role
Salary: £67,000 – £70,000 per annum Working Hours: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm) Location: Hybrid (predominantly home-based, minimum 1 day/week onsite at Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LE)
G4S Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Accountant to join their team permanently.
As a critical member of the management team, you will support two Facilities Management (FM) PFI contracts by delivering commercial and operational financial support, enabling data-driven decision-making. You will:
- Take ownership of full P&L and balance sheet responsibility
- Serve as the primary financial contact for both contracts
- Move beyond traditional finance roles by applying sharp analytical and strategic skills to address commercial and operational challenges for senior management

Profitability & Cost Optimisation
- Analyse financial and operational data to establish key performance metrics
- Drive cost reductions via constructive challenges to operational teams
- Deliver targeted cost-saving recommendations

Forecasting &Financial Modelling
- Own budget and forecasting processes (monthly, quarterly, annual, and rolling)
- Prepare quarterly accounting papers and build robust financial models
- Support long-term contract performance analysis

Process Excellence & Compliance
- Champion continuous improvement in finance processes and controls
- Ensure accurate monthly billing for optimal cash flow
- Manage all financial uploads into SAP

Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with senior managers, including:
- Business Director
- Contract Management & Operations teams
- Finance Shared Service Centre & region finance team
- Build trust with external/internal auditors

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience (specialised commercial accounting preferred)
- Proficient in IFRS with hands-on technical experience
- Contract accounting expertise, particularly in PFI long-term agreements
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (flawless attention to detail + strategic vision)
- Diplomatic communication to earn confidence among colleagues and stakeholders
- Proven ability to drives change and manages complexity professionally
