Are you a commercially minded contracts professional looking to play a pivotal role in a growing, innovative business? We’re seeking a Commercial Contract Specialist to join our team in Severn Beach, where you’ll drive sales growth, manage contractual risk, and enhance operational efficiency through proactive collaboration.
About the Role
In this collaborative position, you will act as the primary contract advisor to the Sales team, owning commercial agreements while ensuring alignment with business goals. You’ll contribute to critical negotiations, streamline processes, and work closely with Legal, Finance, Sales, and leadership to deliver commercial Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contracts & Sales Support
- Review and draft standard sales contracts, ensuring adherence to approved templates and processes.
- Manage non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), promoting use of OIPT’s standard NDA template where possible; negotiate and review third-party NDAs while tracking renewal dates.
- Assess and agree contract amendments, extensions, variations, and late-line letters under approved frameworks.
- Support the Sales team during contract negotiations and attended customer meetings when required, escalating requests exceeding approved risk/financial thresholds.
- Advise Sales on contract structure and content, balancing commercial pragmatism with risk mitigation.
Governance, Risk & Process
- Uphold compliance with internal governance, Delegation of Authority (DoA), and approval processes.
- Prepare Contract Risk Assessments (CRAs) for DoA sign-off, collaborating with Regional Sales Coordinators and Legal Counsel.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle, including execution, renewals, changes, and recordkeeping.

Channel Partners & Procurement
- Assist in managing Channel Partners, including due diligence documentation, approval forms, and negotiations.
- Support due diligence for proactively escalate risks in tender reviews. Provide commercial inputs to vendor onboarding and single procurement documents (ESPDs) for new customers.
- Streamline customer onboarding process by coordinating financial background checks and credit evaluations.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Capability
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to align commercial strategies and objectives.
- Collaborate with regional legal teams, escalating any jurisdiction-specific contract matters.
- Drive improvements to contract templates and workflows while mentoring junior colleagues.
- Contribute to training on contractual negotiation and risk awareness strategies.
Requirements
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree: a legal background is advantageous.
- 3+ years drafting and evaluating contractual documents, preferably alongside a legal function.
Technical Requirements
- Experience working with regulated/technical environments and cross-border contracts.
- Proven capability in managing high-volume, fast-moving work independently.
- Strong alignment with policy frameworks and delegations.
- Amidst experience liaising with senior stakeholders to deliver results.
