We are seeking a UK-qualified Commercial / Contracts Solicitor
With approximately 5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) to support a fixed-term strategic project. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a range of contractual and business matters, working closely with stakeholders to deliver project objectives within agreed timescales. This role is for an immediate start in July 2026.
Role details
This role will sit within the in-house Legal team (which currently comprises of the General Counsel and a Paralegal) and is ideal for a solicitor who is comfortable operating independently, managing multiple workstreams, and providing practical legal solutions in a fast-paced environment while benefitting from the support and collaboration of a small team.
Where you'll be working
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid with 3 days per week working in our Waterloo office and 2 days working from home.
What you'll be doing
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to:
- Supply and services agreements
- Software and technology contracts
- Procurement and outsourcing arrangements
- Provide legal support to project teams and business stakeholders.
- Identify and manage legal and commercial risks associated with contractual arrangements.
- Assist with contract governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
- Deliver clear, practical legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
- Manage and advise on emerging commercial disputes, for example where fees are due to the company.
- Liaise with external counsel where necessary.

What you'll have
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Experience advising in-house on data protection and privacy law, including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act compliance.
- Commercial property law experience, including lease review, property-related contracts, or support for real estate transactions.
- Health or social care sector experience, particularly the commissioning of services by the NHS and/or local authorities.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent UK jurisdiction).
- Approximately 5 years' PQE gained in private practice and/or in-house, but some in-house experience is desirable. Candidates with more or less post-qualification experience will be considered, but the successful applicant will be confident working independently.
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Excellent understanding of UK contract and commercial law principles.
- Ability to provide commercially focused, pragmatic advice.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working autonomously and managing competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
