Commercial Data Manager, 6-month contract

Contract length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid, 3 days on site in Paddington, London (2 days working from home)

Role Summary
Vertex is seeking an International Commercial Data Manager to support the development of commercial AI analytics solutions and tools across International Markets on a 6-month contract basis.
This role will manage and optimize data used for AI initiatives, with a focus on international commercial data, CRM-related data environments, and cross-market data governance.
The role will provide domain expertise across Digital, Sales, and Engagements to ensure high-quality data, meaningful semantic model input, effective user acceptance testing, and support for AI implementations where relevant.

- Define business and data requirements for commercial AI analytics and AI tools.
- Partner with global, regional, and local stakeholders to identify use cases and market data needs.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and coordinate market input.
- Drive data quality, ownership, and remediation across international commercial data domains.
- Monitor data integrity, lineage, and consistency across systems and geographies.
- Support CRM and commercial data for analytics and customer engagement use cases.
- Coordinate data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, validation, and documentation.
- Support semantic model design and lead/support UAT, issue tracking, and sign-off.
- Maintain data governance, metadata, and quality standards across datasets.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, regulatory, and internal policy requirement.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Experience in data management, business analysis, commercial analytics, or data governance.
- Experience supporting AI, analytics, digital, or data product initiatives.
- Experience working with international or multi-regional data environments and CRM data structures.
- Experience translating business needs into data requirements and supporting UAT or related testing activities.
- Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated environments.
- Data quality, governance, and metadata management.
- SQL and relational databases.
- CRM systems and commercial/customer data management.
- Data preparation, transformation, and validation for AI/analytics use cases.
- UAT support, requirements gathering, and business process documentation.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting international commercial operations, customer engagement, or commercial excellence initiatives.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Veeva, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Implementing or training GenAI solutions.
- Familiarity with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
