2026 Summer Internship – Commercial Data Project Lead
About Wattbike and What We Are Looking For
Wattbike is a Nottingham-based sports technology company trusted worldwide by gyms, schools, universities, elite athletes, professional sports teams, and dedicated home users. We partner with around 3,000 of the UK’s 10,000+ commercial gyms and fitness facilities, aiming to expand further into gyms, education, and elite sport.
We are seeking an analytical university graduate or undergraduate for a paid summer internship (July–September 2026) within our UK Commercial Team. An interest in fitness, sport, cycling, or performance is highly advantageous.
Role Summary
You’ll drive a specific commercial data project, including:
- Consolidating and updating customer and prospect data across Salesforce, CRM, and email databases.
- Expanding the UK prospect database with key targets:
- Commercial gyms and health clubs
- Schools and universities
- Elite/professional sports teams
- Leading sports clubs and performance centres
- Identifying the correct decision-maker in each account and sourcing accurate business email addresses.
This data will enable Wattbike’s targeted new-business outreach and customer acquisition.
Project Overview
Key Responsibilities
You’ll:
- Integrate data from Wattbike’s Salesforce, CRM, and email sources.
- Remove duplicates and correct incomplete/inaccurate records.
- Research and enrich the prospect database.
- Uncover key contacts:
- Decisions-makers for fitness equipment and performance tech.
- Their name, job title, and business email.
- Verify contact details for accuracy.
- Deliver a clean, structured prospect database for CRM and sales teams.

Critical Success Metric
A fully fleshed-out prospect database—no incomplete accounts without contact details will be accepted.

Reporting & Support
You’ll embed within the UK Commercial Team, liaising closely with:
- B2B Marketing Executive
- Senior CRM and Email Executive Overseen by our Head of Commercial Sales.
Working Arrangements
- Duration: July–September 2026 (minimum 4 weeks, extendable to 8).
- Hours: Full-time (37.5/week, 5 days).
- Location: Wattbike HQ, Nottingham.
- Attendance: Minimum 3 days/week (start/end dates flexible for successful applicants).

Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Seeking an individual who: ✅ Studying or recent graduate (any degree discipline preferred). ✅ Analytical, organised, and meticulous. ✅ Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data validation). ✅ Confident in verifying data via research and outreach. ✅ Skilled in using AI alongside traditional research (e.g., LinkedIn, company sites). ✅ Persistent and proactive in sourcing accurate contacts. ✅ Comfortable with cold emails/phone calls as part of verification. ✅ Passionate about fitness, sport, or performance sectors (highly valued).
Relevant courses: Business, Marketing, Sport Management, Data Analytics, Sport Science, Economics, or related fields.
