Tortus AI
Tortus AI is the leading NHS AI documentation platform, supporting clinicians across the NHS and powering care for 2.5M+ patients to date. We've built the clinical and economic case for AI-assisted documentation in the UK, including the largest NHS ambient AI trial (9 sites, 165 clinicians, 17,000+ consultations). As we grow internationally across the UK and EU, we're looking for a Commercial Director to lead and scale our commercial function.
The Opportunity
You'll own our go-to-market execution for international growth across the UK and EU, oversee and optimise commercial pipelines across markets, and lead the team that delivers sustainable 2–3x revenue growth over the coming years. We're backed by tier-1 investors (Khosla Ventures, whose portfolio includes OpenAI, Stripe and Ramp), with proven NHS traction as the foundation for what comes next.
Why This Role
AI clinical documentation is still an emerging category across Europe. Every market has its own regulatory environment, healthcare system and buying process. We need someone with strong relationships across clinical and technology leadership, a track record of scaling revenue and teams, and the judgement to grow responsibly in a regulated sector.
This is a scale role. It suits someone who enjoys bringing clarity to ambiguity, strengthening operating cadence and forecasting, and building repeatable commercial motion, ideally with experience spanning both NHS/hospital environments and digitally native enterprise software.
What We're Looking For
Senior commercial leadership (VP/Director level) with deep healthtech/healthcare IT sales experience and a track record of scaling into new markets; you've helped grow revenue past £5M, and delivered 2–3x growth over 3–5 years, with clear attribution to your work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You've scaled commercial organisations, not just managed them: hiring and developing teams from under 10 to 50+, implementing forecasting and pipeline discipline, and evolving GTM playbooks, compensation structures and sales methodology as the company grew. You bring P&L ownership experience and strong relationships with clinical leadership across UK/EU health systems (NHS experience is essential).
We also value a strong “digital tech” background — for example, time at enterprise software organisations (e.g., Epic, Oracle, Microsoft, Solventum) — combined with experience in startups and the ability to grow from small to scale.
You will have experience of and be comfortable with:
- Moving at pace with a scaling, VC Backed business with ambitious plans
- Working cross functionally with talented teams in Engineering, Compliance and Clinical
- Reporting to C Suite/Founders and being a culture enabler for a high performance team
What Makes Tortus Different
- Proven clinical outcomes: Our largest NHS AI-scribe pilot gave clinicians 25% more patient-facing time. National economic modelling estimates £176M in annual savings on documentation time, and £650M in unlocked clinical capacity, if deployed across NHS A&E.
- Regulatory leadership: We're the first UK AI documentation provider to achieve MHRA Class IIa medical device registration and NHS DTAC compliance, credentials that matter when selling into regulated healthcare markets across Europe.
- Market timing: We have a proven product, real NHS traction, and backing from investors who understand healthcare AI at scale. The opportunity across European healthcare is real, and we're well placed to help shape it responsibly.

The Role
Based in London (in-house, hybrid). You'll work directly with Dom, our CEO and an NHS clinician, with full ownership to lead and scale the commercial organisation: aligning strategy across functions, strengthening pipeline health and forecast accuracy, establishing our presence in new markets, building relationships with clinical leaders, and closing enterprise deals that take us toward £20M+ ARR across the UK and EU.
First 12–18 months: scale the commercial team, establish a presence in 2–3 new international markets, close initial enterprise deals (£500K+ TCV), systematise repeatable GTM playbooks and pipeline management, and set us on a 2–3x revenue growth trajectory.
What We Offer
- Impact: Help define the commercial strategy for AI in European healthcare.
- Autonomy: Scale the entire commercial function from a small to a mid size team.
- Backing: Tier-1 VC funded (Khosla, Cosler), with proven NHS traction behind you.
- Mission: Help eliminate avoidable clinical error by scaling safe AI adoption across Europe.
- Pace: A fast-moving space; we want to grow deliberately, and quickly.
Why Now
AI clinical documentation in Europe is still taking shape. We have the regulatory credentials, proven clinical outcomes and backing to lead responsibly and we need commercial leadership to help us do it. The standards set now will matter for years to come. We'd like to help set them, together.
