Commercial Director (Head of Sales & Marketing)

Up to £85,000 Basic + Bonus | £125,000 OTE | Coventry

Our client is an ambitious, high-growth advisory business with an outstanding reputation for helping SMEs and owner-managed businesses achieve their ambitions. They've already laid the foundations.

What they don't yet have is a dedicated Commercial Director to take the business to the next level. This is a genuine leadership opportunity where you'll take complete ownership of the commercial agenda.

You'll build the sales engine that drives the next phase of growth, develop and inspire the commercial team, shape the sales strategy and personally win high-value relationships with business owners across the region. This is a role for someone who enjoys building something exceptional—not simply maintaining what's already there.

The Role

You'll own the commercial revenue target, lead the sales function and ensure marketing activity consistently delivers high-quality opportunities. You'll coach and develop your team, implement best-in-class sales processes through HubSpot and personally build relationships with business owners, founders and managing directors, converting strategic opportunities into long-term client partnerships. You'll be responsible for building a high-performing commercial function that delivers predictable, sustainable growth year after year.

About You

We're looking for an ambitious commercial leader who has successfully led a B2B sales or commercial function and enjoys developing high-performing teams. You'll have the credibility to build relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers, using a consultative, value-led approach to win business and develop long-term partnerships. You will be equally comfortable setting commercial strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves and leading from the front. Experience within professional services, consultancy, financial services or another relationship-led B2B environment would be advantageous, although we are equally interested in exceptional commercial leaders from other complex sales sectors.

Package

  • Location: Coventry (Office Based)
  • Salary: Up to £85,000 Basic Salary
  • On-Target Earnings: Approximately £125,000
