Lead one of the UK’s largest travel-insurance businesses, responsible for multi-million revenue portfolio and manage partnerships with some of the country’s best-known consumer brands.
We are looking for a senior commercial leader to own the UK sales and distribution strategy, develop major existing partnerships and deliver profitable new growth.
You do not need to be a travel-insurance specialist. We are open to leaders from motor, home, retail insurance, broking, banking, affinity or other personal-lines environments who have operated at significant commercial scale.
About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Sales and Distribution Officer for Allianz Partners UK and Ireland, you will lead the commercial performance and development of the UK travel-insurance business.
You will own annual revenue, profit and new-business objectives while leading a team responsible for partnerships across banking, broking, airlines, tour operators, travel agents, ticketing and leisure.
The role combines sales and distribution strategy, major-account leadership, commercial negotiation, new-business development and cross-functional influence across a complex global organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Own the UK sales and distribution strategy for the travel-insurance business.
- Deliver annual revenue, profit and new-business targets.
- Lead, develop and set clear objectives for the UK sales team.
- Strengthen and grow major existing partnerships across multiple distribution channels.
- Identify, develop and convert profitable new-business opportunities.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations and protect long-term account profitability.
- Use performance data and market insight to improve pricing, propositions and distribution decisions.
- Coordinate product, underwriting, operations, finance and global teams around commercial priorities.
- Represent Allianz Partners with senior clients and across the wider insurance market.
- Use data, analytics and AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve forecasting, insight and decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for
- Senior sales, distribution or commercial leadership experience in general insurance or another relevant personal-lines environment.
- Accountability for a substantial revenue portfolio, P&L or national distribution business.
- Experience managing complex B2B or B2B2C partnerships.
- A strong record of delivering profitable growth across existing and new business.
- Experience leading and developing a commercial team.
- Strong commercial negotiation and financial-analysis capability.
- Understanding of the insurance value chain, including product, pricing, underwriting, sales and operations.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver through a matrix organisation.
- Evidence of leading change, improving performance or reshaping a commercial strategy.
- Confidence using data, digital and AI-enabled tools responsibly.
Travel-insurance experience would be valuable, but it is not essential. Leadership experience from motor, home, banking, broking, comparison, affinity or other personal-lines markets is highly relevant.
