We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join the commercial team at Western Building Systems. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established off-site construction specialist delivering modular, panelised and timber frame projects across Ireland and the UK.
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting tender submissions across a range of sectors including health, education, commercial and housing. You will work closely with commercial, design and project teams, contributing to the successful planning and delivery of high-quality construction solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, plant and subcontract packages
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to understand project scope and requirements
- Carry out quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and supporting documentation
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Design teams during the tender process
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, rates and cost data
- Support value engineering and cost planning exercises where required

About You
- Experience in an estimating or construction-related role is desirable
- Qualification in construction, quantity surveying or a related discipline preferred
- Experience preferred; however, training will be provided for inexperienced candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to work, learn and develop
- Familiarity with a range of construction contract documentation is desirable, with support and training provided where required
- Strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical information
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
