Commercial Excellence Analyst (Data Analyst)

Role Overview

Support commercial teams with data, insights, and reporting as data/commercial analyst. Drive smarter decision-making across sales and operations. Act as the bridge between data, finance, and commercial strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reporting

  • Prepare/maintain required datasets/databases for each tool with respective counterparts (e.g., KAM’s) and prepares the dataset/database for the upload into the tools (e.g., Alteryx/Power BI/Excel or a similar data preparation software).
  • Track commercial targets and OKRs; develop and maintain regular reports, dashboards, and visual presentations that clearly communicate key insights, strategies, and progress towards objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Finance and Sales team to identify potential opportunities, risks, and discrepancies.
  • Provide reports (regular and ad-hoc) to the Sales Team and the broader business to enable data-based decision making.

Pricing & Value Chain Analysis

  • Evaluate and manage value chains across different products and services, ensuring that pricing decisions align with overall business goals and customer value propositions.
  • Collaborate with the RGM and Finance teams to assess the impact of pricing changes on profitability and competitiveness.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Engage in continuous review and improvement of cross-departmental processes/procedures/systems to enhance efficiency and alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the Commercial Excellence Manager on special projects, providing insights and recommendations that align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Coordination

  • Proactively coordinate and align commercial excellence activities with broader business strategies, utilizing analytical insights to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor and track the implementation of strategic objectives, ensuring they are in line with the company’s commercial and financial goals.
  • Administrative and Strategic Support, for example, collate and prepare presentations for management or Range Reviews, support customer onboarding requests, and track Commercial Sample Requests (included but not limited to).

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a proactive approach in reviewing and optimizing business processes to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.

Education

  • Business related degree or other discipline (e.g., mathematics, economics, engineering) that requires extensive quantitative knowledge (master's an advantage/not essential).
  • Demonstrated professional and academic success.

Experience

  • Experience in data analysis (2+ years).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package and especially Excel and Access are essential.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Second to none time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of building and maintaining cross functional relationships.

  • Passionate for working with numbers and spreadsheets.
  • Strong process focus, eagerness for continuous process improvement and process re-design.
  • Well-organised, able to prioritise work, meet deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on an individual basis as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build cross functional relationships.
  • Confidential with high level of integrity.
  • Flexible attitude and excellent teamwork.
