Commercial Finance Analyst
Department: Business Reporting
Location: Sunderland - Customer Support Centre
Compensation: Up to £45,000.00 Depending on Experience
Description
We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Analyst, to support an accelerated sales and margin growth plan. Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner, this is an exciting opportunity for you to join us during a period of significant business transformation.
This is a high-profile role, with an opportunity to work alongside an established commercial insights and BI reporting function. Your core focus will be to provide updates on current trading and profitability for the UK brand to the senior leadership team and the Board. Your commercial skills will allow you to provide further insight of sales and margin opportunities, translating complex data into powerful business analysis.
What does the role involve?
- Provide regular weekly trading updates to the Board and Senior leadership teams, providing a high-level insight of key drivers
- Prepare and analyze detailed sales and margin packs for the Board, highlighting product and margin opportunities and areas of risk and improvement
- Implement and action monthly/annual sales and margin target setting
- Provide retail visitor insights to support footfall and conversion improvement opportunities
- Analyze store/regional trading performance and challenge KPIs in order to drive continuous improvement
- Support on strategic initiatives and be the reporting team representative on key projects
- Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to commercially support improvements and accuracy in business reporting
- Continually challenge and make recommendations on how to optimize business opportunities
- You will build and maintain key relationships with senior stakeholders, managing expectations and develop a deep understanding of the business's commercial and operational drivers.

Who are we looking for?
- A part-qualified finance professional, ideally with commercial experience (ACCA/CIMA or similar)
- You possess strong Excel and financial modeling skills
- Have an analytical approach to problem-solving
- You are able to communicate and influence across the business with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with large volumes of data using a reporting tool such as Power BI or similar
- Someone with a passion to stretch boundaries and wanting to make a difference!
- Located within commutable distance to the Sunderland support centre, where we offer a hybrid working policy (4 days in office per week)
