The Recipe

To provide effective and efficient support in the management of sales revenue and commercial investment, and business partnering support for certain customers.

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  • To control product promotions spend and provide support to all aspects of the process:
    • Blueplanner management and co-ordination with supplier
    • Management of relevant accruals.
  • To review and evaluate promotions performance.
  • To co-ordinate the forecasting process.
  • To provide ROI reporting and inputs into future decision making.
  • To assist in the monthly and budget process for sales volumes and revenue.
  • Work with Commercial Leadership team to establish and monitor commercial spend budget.
  • Support month end process, providing analysis around volume and revenue performance vs budget, forecast and prior year.
  • To manage the customer master file changes at price increase time, working with central finance and commercial teams resolving customer audit queries.
  • To provide customer account support and analysis covering terms proposals, promotional sign off, price Modelling, new Customer requests. Covering convenience, online and premium
  • To manage the accounting for customer bonuses/discounts:
    • To manage the rebate accruals for override and other payments to customers.
    • To conduct in depth reconciliation each period to ensure accruals match expected pay-outs.
    • To validate customer trading year payments.
  • Supervision and support to Senior Accounts Assistant providing admin support two days a week.

Essential Ingredients

  • Finance experience, ideally gained in a commercial role.
  • Qualifications: CIMA qualified / CIMA part qualified, or equivalent, and committed to achieving qualification and on-going PQE.
  • Experience of operating in a SAP environment.
  • Excellent commercial skills: good understanding of the bakery industry; analytical; strategic thinker.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to interpret data clearly and concisely, clearly communicating and ensuring understanding of both finance and non finance colleagues. Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills: influential; persuasive; articulate; confident in challenging and dealing with a variety of colleagues outside a finance community
  • Excellent relationship builder: Able to build relationships and influence across a broad range of non-finance and finance stakeholders.
  • Able to demonstrate strong time management and organisation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.
