Commercial Finance Analyst

Commercial Finance Analyst – AO Recycling

Job Overview

At AO Recycling, we’re reinventing the future of electricals by giving them a second life. As part of the AO family, we run one of the UK’s largest and most advanced WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling facilities. We’re reducing landfill waste and building a more sustainable future—and we need your talent to help us grow.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a part-qualified accountant ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll empower the Commercial Finance team by turning complex performance data into actionable insights, shadowing senior stakeholders and driving commercial strategy.

We’re looking for a commercially savvy analyst—someone who thrives on problem-solving with data, loves uncovering opportunities, and is eager to grow into a trusted finance partner.

As an added bonus, we’ll support you in completing your CIMA qualification, so you can develop long-term while contributing to our success.

Why This Role?

About the Role

You’ll join AO Recycling, a dynamic and purpose-driven business where every data-driven decision helps us make a real difference. By combining strategic financial analysis with hands-on operational support, you’ll provide critical insights to leaders across the company.

This isn’t just another finance job. You’ll be:

  • Influencing business decisions with reporting and analysis.
  • Acting as a bridge between finance and operational teams.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and performance improvements.
  • Shaping the future of AO Recycling with data-backed recommendations.

Together, we’ll transform appliance recycling—one number at a time.

Responsibilities

Your role will include, but isn’t limited to:

  • Deliver sharp, impactful reporting and analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making across our business.
  • Own daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for our appliance recycling operations, with a spotlight on the Halesfield facility.
  • Partner with the Commercial team to ensure finance insights drive commercial growth and operational efficiency.
  • Deep dive into profit and cost drivers—spotting tendencies, trends, and areas for revenue enhancement.
  • Maintain and refine AO Group’s financial consolidation models for accurate reporting.
  • Design and improve KPIs that inform leadership and help the business excel.
  • Collaborate with the IT Projects team to automate reporting processes, making data faster, more accessible, and error-free.
  • Raise awareness among senior stakeholders, presenting findings clearly and propose actionable solutions.
  • Optimise processes with operational colleagues to achieve both commercial and efficiency gains.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager in month-end closures and performance reviews to ensure financial health.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
